Global Game Jam Austin 2023 Awards:

Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world's largest game jam event, with hundreds of physical and virtual sites running the jam all around the globe. For the past few years, I've participated in GGJ Austin and had an amazing time!

I was the lead artist for my team of 4, so I was tasked with creating all the art (except for the title splash) from conception to finish as well as implementing majority of the assets into the game. 

A fun challenge this jam presented me was concepting a 3D claw that could extend and retract without looking odd when scaling up and down from the player. To solve this, I designed the claw's arm to have an accordion-esque design, and scripted a C# tool that adjusted the claw arm's scale in relation to the distance from the player to the claw's point of contact on the wall.

Greenlight Jam 2022 - 1st Place Winner!

Greenlight Jam is game jam where participants are tasked with going through a full game production cycle over the course of a month. In 2022, I entered this event with a remote team of 10 as a 3D Modeler, Rigger, Animator, and Technical Artist.

I primarily used Blender throughout the jam to model, texture, and animate all the fish models and the final boss. I was also responsible for animating the player character, which was challenging because of the underwater setting of the game.

Throughout the whole production, I assisted with art implementation and managing the art pipeline. For the player character, I created an Animation State Controller that supports strafe movement and multi-hit combos with support from my team's programmers.

GMTK Jam 2021 Winner! (5000+ submissions)

Game Maker's Toolkit (GMTK) is a Youtube channel that runs an annual game jam that brings in thousands of participants to create a game in 48 hours. My team's game was chosen as one of the best games submitted for this jam and was then featured in one of their videos (watch here!).

In this jam, I primarily acted as the lead game designer because I pitched the initial core gameplay concept to my team of 6. However, I took on many other tasks such as drawing gameplay assets in Photoshop, designing the UI, and implementing art into Unity!
